Mohamed Nazeeh has been terminated from his position as the coach of the GDh. Gadhdhoo team competing in the Dhivehi Premier League (DPL).
All six matches played by Gadhdhoo in the DPL under Nazeeh have resulted in losses. While the team qualified for the DPL under his guidance, they have not been able to secure a single point in the league.
An official from Gadhdhoo said the management believed a change to the team was necessary due to negative results. And so, the first decision they made was to change the coach.
"The management believed there needed to be a twist (change) due to the results, with the coach's contract being terminated after both sides held a discussion and came to a similar agreement," the official said.
He continued, stating they are currently in talks with some coaches to find a replacement, but that they have not finalized any names yet.
"We have options. Our focus is more on a Maldivian coach," according to the official.
When the official was asked whether the team is looking for another experienced coach, they said any coach with an A License is an experienced coach.
"As coaches are required to have an A License, each of these coaches are experienced," said the official.
