From the match played this afternoon in the Dhivehi Premier League, Victory defeated Bis Buru Sports Club and returned to the winning race.

Victory's winning streak was interrupted following the draw in the match played against Maziya last Saturday. Failing to win that match resulted in being slipped from the first position maintained early in the league.

In the match played this afternoon at the Malé National Football Stadium, Victory took the lead with the goal scored by Ahmed Rizuwan (Rizey) in the 27th minute of the match.

From around the middle of Bis Buru's half, Victory's Uzbek defender Furgatjon Hasanboev sent the ball into the area, where Nigeria's Alhaji Gero controlled it on the line of the area and played it in front of the goal. Bis Buru's Ghanaian goalkeeper Peter Sarkodie came forward to stop that ball. However, Rizuwan sent the ball into the goal ahead of him.

Even before scoring the goal, Victory generated several attacks. Goalkeeper Sarkodie cleverly defended some of those attacks as well. However, he was unable to stop all of Victory's attacks either.

Victory's last two goals were scored early in the second half. That goal was a combination between two Uzbek players.

From the corner received by the team, Rizuwan played a short pass to Uzbekistan's Mirjalol Kasimov. Positioned at the side of the area, he crossed the ball high, and Shohruhbek Kholmatov leaped up to head that ball into the goal.

The team's third goal was scored by Alhaji Gero from an opportunity created by Hassan Nazeem (Choatu). Entering from the side of the area, Nazeem delivered that ball in front of the goal. Gero easily put that ball into the goal.

With this win, Victory has obtained 10 points from four matches.
