Buru Sports Club secured their first victory in the league after defeating GDh. Gadhdhoo 2-0 with goals scored in the second half.

Heading into the match played this afternoon at the Malé National Football Stadium, the two teams that had not obtained a single point were Gadhdhoo and Buru.

Gadhdhoo, competing in the top division of the Maldives for the very first time, managed to hold off Buru until the end of the first half.

Five minutes into the second half, Argentine forward Juan Eduardo Lescano scored the opening goal for Buru. Experienced Egyptian player in the Dhivehi League, Khalil Gamal, standing outside the area, chipped the ball over the Gadhdhoo defenders directly to Eduardo's feet.

He sent the ball into the top corner of the goal.

Buru's second goal was scored in the 78th minute of the match by Ibrahim Ousama Hussain Majeed.

Ali Hamdhan, standing outside the area, played the ball to the side of the area towards Ousama. When Ousama moved into the area with the ball, it was expected that he would cross it in front of the goal.

However, positioned inside the area towards the side of the goal, he shot the ball towards the near post. The ball entered the goal after striking the hand of Gadhdhoo goalkeeper Bojan Mukorovic.
