Dhiraagu has announced that the Dhiraagu Maldives Junior Open 2026 Badminton Tournament will be held in December of this year.
The tournament will take place from December 13 to 19 at the Malé Ekuveni Badminton Court, and the opportunity to participate is open until the 25th of November.
As part of Dhiraagu's efforts to empower youth and promote the sports sector in the Maldives, this tournament is organized in collaboration with the Badminton Club. This tournament is held by Dhiraagu in partnership with the Badminton Association and the Ministry of Sports.
Dhiraagu stated that the main objective of the tournament is to provide favorable opportunities to develop the skills of Maldivian and international young athletes within a competitive environment.
The company stated that last year's Dhiraagu Maldives Junior Badminton Tournament also received an overwhelming response. Last year's tournament saw a total of 347 players participate from eight countries, which included 30 international athletes. A total of 733 matches were played in that tournament.
This year's tournament is scheduled to be divided into the Under-9, Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, Under-17, and Under-19 age categories. Just like in previous years, this year's tournament will also include a para/special Olympics category.
Dhiraagu is a company that works to promote various sports in the Maldives.
