FAM Awards: Aiham, Saliya crowned Footballer of the Year

Fan's Player of the Year went to Victory Sports' Club's Hamza Mohamed (Hampu), who played for Maziya last season.

Maziya's Ahmed Aiham (Fatho) has been crowned Footballer of the Year (men) at the FAM Awards 2026. 

Footballer of the Year (female) was won by Odi Sports Club's captain Fathimath Saliya. 

FAM has held the awards after an eight year hiatus. This year, for the first time, Best Futsal Player and Regional Club of the Year categories were introduced. 

This year's President's Award was posthumously awarded to three personalities who featured in the 2008 SAFF Championship win, the late Mohamed Arif (Baka), late Coach Ihsan Abdul Ghani (Saanthi), and late Keeper Ibrahim Ifrah Areef. 

Saanthi's award was received by his brother Ahsan Abdul Ghani. Baka's award was accepted by his son Yoosuf Alaali Arif. Ifrah's award was presented to his widow Shifaza and brother Abdulla Aiham Mohamed. 

Footballer of the Year category had three rankings. Third Place went to Hamza Mohamed (Hampu) who took home the bronze trophy. The silver trophy for Second Place went to Ali Fasir (Sentey). 

The Best Futsal Player award went to National Futsal Team captain Mohamed Imran (Immi). 

Maziya's Luisma Hernandez, who drove the team to Dhivehi Premier League Championship last season, was crowned Best Coach of the year. 

With 22 goals to his name, New Radiant's Ali Fasir (Sentey) won the Golden Boot. 

Best Goalkeeper Award went to Mohamed Faisal, who played for both Buru Sports and New Radiant last season. 

Maziya's forward Mohamed Ilan Imran was recognized as the Most Promising Footballer. 

Fan's Player of the Year went to Victory Sports' Club's Hamza Mohamed (Hampu), who played for Maziya last season. 

Hussain Niyaz Mohamed (Bokry) had his remarkable skill recognized through being awarded Best Goal of the Year.

Competing against Javiz Mohamed and Shathir Abdulla, Sinan Hussain won the Best Referee Award. 

Best Foreign Player award went to New Radiant's Gomes de Silva. 

Best Club of the Year went to Maziya. 

Third place in the Best Regional Club category went to South Region's GDh. Gahdhoo Sports Club, while the second place went to North Region's HA. Dhihdhoo Sports Club. Bisburu Sports Club secured the top spot. 

The National Futsal Team who won this year's South Asia Futsal Championship and the National Football Team who won last year's South Asian Super Cup were also recognized during the awards ceremony.
