Following five goals scored in the first half, Kyrgyzstan secured a 5-0 victory against the Maldives while playing on home ground.

The Maldives approached this match following a 3-0 defeat against China in an away fixture last Thursday night, during which the Maldivian side held China scoreless through the first half.

According to Kyrgyz media, the team entered last night's match against the Maldives under heavy pressure due to a winless streak in their last four home games. However, they relieved that pressure by scoring against the Maldivian side before the first 15 minutes of the match were complete.

The Maldives attempted to thwart Kyrgyzstan's attacks by dropping deep into a compact, low defensive block and organizing their gameplay with the intention of creating opportunities on the counterattack. Nevertheless, the Maldivian plans unraveled in the 11th minute.

Capitalizing on open space within the Maldivian defense, Kyrgyzstan's Erbol Atabaev scored to give his team the lead.

Kyrgyzstan played a high-intensity, aggressive pressing game, which completely dismantled the Maldivian defense. Shortly after the opening goal, Kyrgyzstan completely turned the tide of the match.

In the 20th minute, taking advantage of an error by the Maldivian defense, Sirozhiddin Astanakulov scored Kyrgyzstan's second goal.

Total control of the match fell to the home team, and the Maldivian side was given no opportunity to settle into their play.

In the 23rd minute, Atabaev scored his second goal, meaning three goals had entered the Maldivian net before the match had even reached the 30-minute mark.

In the 32nd minute, Vitalii Murzakov scored the team's fourth goal.

Before the first half concluded, Joel Kojo scored Kyrgyzstan's fifth goal in the 42nd minute, capping off a half entirely dominated by Kyrgyzstan.

The Maldives will play another match in the country, facing Lebanon next Thursday. That match will also take place at the Dolen Omurzakov Stadium in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek, where last night's game was held. Lebanon and Kyrgyzstan are also scheduled to face each other at the same stadium this coming Saturday.
