Victory's coach Mohamed Shiyaz (Mohan) has stated that he no longer holds any feelings for New Radiant.

Mohan's father, and football veteran "Queen" Ahmed Waheed, was the long-time official in charge of New Radiant, Victory's biggest rival. His entire family has been tied to that club.

Even today, Mohan appeared at the first press conference of the new Dhivehi Premier League season wearing Victory Sports Club’s red jersey and stepping away from “New Radiant’s house”.

However, he said that there is no longer any feelings for New Radiant in his body. Whatever remains is intertwined with memories of the past.

"Now, having coached various clubs against New Radiant for this long, it wouldn't be a lie to say that that feeling is simply no longer there at all," Mohan spoke with certainty.

"A long time has passed since I've been involved in this. Therefore, since 2012, I haven't had the opportunity to coach New Radiant. Instead, I've entirely ended up facing New Radiant with other clubs. So, it wouldn't be wrong to say that has now become habitual and accustomed."

Mohan will take charge of his first official match with Victory against TC on Friday night.

Victory started training even later than the four teams that competed in the Cup Winners Cup. The team had conducted a training camp lasting about a week in Sri Lanka.

Having concluded that camp, the team returned to the Maldives yesterday.

Mohan stated that Victory has the target of competing for the league. The experienced coach said that they need to operate in that gear right from the first match.
