The Football Association of Maldives' (FAM) regional offices will be built at four islands as the association is in the stage where they are changing into a federation.
FAM made the decision to form four regional associations under them during their Extraordinary Congress that was held on 25th July 2026.
The four regional associations have been split amongst four zones in Maldives:
- North Regional Football Association of Maldives (Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu, Shaviyani, Noonu, Raa, Baa, Lhaviyani, Kulhudhuffushi)
- Central Regional Football Association of Maldives (Kaafu, Alifu Alifu, Alifu Dhaalu, Vaavu, Meemu, Faafu, Dhaalu)
- South Regional Football Association of Maldives (Thaa, Laamu, Gaafu Alifu, Gaafu Dhaalu, Thinadhoo City, Fuvahmulah, Addu)
- Male' Regional Football Association of Maldives (Male', Vilimale', Hulhumale')
As per the statement shared by FAM to the media, they have decided to establish the offices of the four regional associations at the islands relative to their regions.
The office of the North Regional Football Association of Maldives will be established at HDh. Dhidhdhoo. The office of the Central Regional Football Association of Maldives will be built at ADh. Mahibadhoo. The office of the South Regional Football Association of Maldives will be opened at L. Gan. The office of the Male' Regional Football Association of Maldives will be operated in Male'.
FAM has decided to open a development office at B. Eydhafushi, the island of football.
During Chairman of the Normalization Committee Mohamed Shaweed's term in 2015, the FAM opened a football development office in S. Hithadhoo as well.
