Club MTCC has claimed the VAM Cup championship after defeating former champions, Dhivehi Sifainge Club (DSC).
In the final match played last night at the Social Centre Indoor Hall, MTCC won by 3-1 sets.
MTCC took the lead by winning the first set of the final 25-23. They widened their lead by securing the second set 25-20. However, in the third set, last year's champions DSC put up a strong display to win 25-23, heightening the match's competitiveness.
The fourth set proved to be a drawn-out battle featuring strong determination from both teams. Tightening their grip in a fiercely contested set, MTCC won 33-31 to secure the championship.
MTCC also dominated the individual awards.
In addition to winning the final, Club MTCC's players and coach bagged several individual awards. The title of the tournament's best player went to MTCC's middle blocker, Mohamed Ahsan. Meanwhile, the best coach award was taken by the team's Nizar Ibrahim.
