Bangladesh's Al-Amin, who attacked the referee during the match against Maldives in the Diamond Jubilee International Football Tournament held in Malé in June, has been suspended for 15 matches.

The match played by the national team on the night of June 7 turned into a major unrest after the Bangladesh bench heated up over the referee's decisions.

The issues were reviewed and disciplinary measures against officials and players were taken by FIFA's Disciplinary Committee.

Al-Amin, who also plays for Bangladesh's senior team, was suspended for 15 matches for striking the referee twice. In addition to him, Mirajul Islam, who scored for Bangladesh in that match, was suspended for two matches. He was suspended over comments made against the referee's decision while on the bench.

The team's manager, Shaheen Hassan, was also faced with a fine imposed by the FIFA committee.

During extra time in the match played at the National Football Stadium, which ended in a 1-1 draw, Bangladesh players were deeply dissatisfied when the referee called a foul for a challenge by a Bangladesh player on Maldives' Hassan Eenas.

Dissatisfied with the decision made by the match referee, Senthilnathan of India, Al-Amin was shown a second yellow card followed by a red card. Upset by this, he struck the referee. Other Bangladesh players attempted to control him.

Later, the match resumed. At the final moment, Bangladesh players confronted young Maldivian forward Nassah Ibrahim Nasir near the Bangladesh area, and players from both teams brawled.

It is not known whether any measures were taken against any official or player from the Maldivian team in connection with the unrest in this match.
