Maziya has appointed Czech expert Tomáš Trucha as their coach.
Trucha arrived in Maldives a few days ago, and was officially appointed as Maziya Coach yesterday. He was seen in the rostrum of the National Stadium to watch the Charity Shield match held to open the new football season.
Under the guidance of Assistant Coach Ahmed Shuzair, Maziya defended the Charity Shield through defeating New Radiant.
54 year old Trucha agreed on July 19 to coach Rwanda's Club Mukura Victory. He even travelled to Huye City to takeover his role. However, prior to officially starting his work, he initiated discussions with the club's management and, through mutual consent, opted out of the role. Some sources claim that he had pulled out of the Rwanda Club to take up the position with Maziya.
Trucha has previously worked with Malaysian and Indonesian league clubs. He has coached two strong Malaysian teams, Kelantan FC and Penang FC.
He has also earlier served as Assistant Coach with top Czech club Viktoria Plzeň. A large part of his experience is based with clubs in Africa, including with clubs in South Africa, Botswana and Kenya.
