Kazi Md. Salahuddin, football administrator of Bangladesh, has been elected as the President of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) once again.

Salahuddin, who previously served as the President of the Bangladesh Football Federation, was elected as the President of SAFF for a fifth term. The 72-year-old veteran has been holding the top position of the regional football organization since 2009.

He secured the post as there were no other candidates contesting against him in the election.

At the SAFF Congress held today in Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, Jaswar Umar, President of Football Sri Lanka, was also elected to the post of Vice President without any opposing candidates. Furthermore, Zimbiri of the Bhutan Football Federation was elected to the female member post of the SAFF Executive Committee as the sole applicant.

Hussain Shafiu, Vice President of the Football Association of Maldives (FAM), was also elected to the ExCo.

Dr. Shaji Prabhakaran of India will fill the position of the member representing SAFF in the AFC ExCo. He is currently serving in that position as well. The SAFF Congress decided that he will remain in that post until the end of the current AFC term.

Delegates were elected to six posts during today's congress. There are a total of eight members on the SAFF ExCo. These are the President, two Vice Presidents, three ExCo members, a female member, and the member representing SAFF on the AFC ExCo.
