Anakee Sports Club has claimed the 2026 T20 Championship.
This win sees the club promoted to cricket's First Division, the T20 Premier League.
Anakee's championship final saw them play against BG Sports Club yesterday at the Ekuveni Cricket Ground, where they won with 7 wickets.
Anakee won the pre-match toss and chose to throw, with the innings seeing BG score 82 runs, with all players being dismissed within 15.5 overs.
BG's Don Kasun scored 26 runs from 24 balls, with Anakee's Nifras Nazme and Isuru Sampath scoring 4 wickets. Sampath scored 4 wickets with 2.5 overs thrown.

When it was Anakee's turn to bat, they dismissed three players in 9.1 overs and scored 83 runs, winning them the match.
The best player of the tournament was Offu FC's Dinesh Kumar. The best batsman was Anakee's Sampath Dinesh, with the best baller being BG's Nibodha Shivanth.
Nine teams played in the T20 Championship, which spanned one month from 26th June. The 9 teams were split into two groups.
Group A consisted of AIZY, BG, Club All Stars, Vicenza and West Sports. Group B consisted of Anakee, CBM Academy, Lions Recreation Club and Offu FC.
In the first match of the semi final, BG scored 41 runs against Offu FC. The second match of the semi final saw Anakee win against Vicenza with 2 wickets.
