Maziya has once again defended the FAM Under-19 Youth Championship title through beating New Radiant 4-1 in the finals.
At the final match played at the Galolhu National Stadium last night, all goals were scored in the second half. Maziya took the lead in the 54th minute with a goal from Eydhan Ahmed Moosa. The lead was further widened when Mohamed Ilan Imran scored a second goal in the 73rd minute.
Six minutes on, New Radiant cut the margin with a finish from Ahmed Hamdhan Azleen.

Maziya, however, refused to let the momentum slip. In the final moments of the match, they struck twice more. Nassah Ibrahim Nasir netted in the 89th minute, followed by Alhan Faisal Ameen adding the fourth in the final minute of the seven-minute stoppage time.
Nassah was crowned Player of the Match. Ilan scored the most goals in the tournament, totaling fourteen.

This is the third Youth Championship win for Maziya, only surpassed by Eagles, who has won the cup five times.
The 6-team tournament's Fair Play team is V. Keyodhoo Recreation Club. Best Coach title went to Maziya's Ibrahim Saeed (Kaka) for the second year running. Kaka led Maziya to win the championship last year as well without conceding a single match.

The 2011 Under-20 tournament was also won through beating New Radiant. This is New Radiant's first time in the finals since then. Fourteen years since then, Maziya raised the cup last year through defeating Eagles in the final. This win was significant as Maziya had lost to Eagles twice previously in the Under-21 tournament in 2014 and 2017.
