Naha Nasrullah has been crowned the Women's Open champion in the Eleyi's, the Dhivehi Surf League's first event for the year, which was held in Fuvahmulah.
The previous Women's Open held by the Maldives Surfing Association (MSA) saw Mariyam Rahil Naseem (Aaya) in all seven events. However, that has changed in the first event of the year.
Naha beat Rahil in the final heat that was held yesterday after scoring a total of 8.10 points. She scored 5.17 points and 2.93 points for the first two waves. Rahil scored a total of 5.37 points.
While four surfers competed in the final heat, 9 year old Aliya Latheef placed third with 4.17 points. Aishath Alisha Hassan scored 4 points, with her second best score being canceled due to interference.
This is the sixth Dhivehi Surf League event Naha has taken part in. She has previously taken part in all of the Rannamaari Challenge's since 2021. She has placed second in the 2022 and 2023 events after competing in the final heats.
