Biss Buru Sports Club, TC Sports Club and HA. Dhidhdhoo secured spots in the next season of the Dhivehi Premier League (DPL) yesterday.

The three teams were assured of their slots when Club Green Streets and Dhidhdhoo equalized 2-2 during their game last evening.

Dhidhdhoo's Saint Danjuma Gumbari took the lead in the first half, with Green's El Sayed Abdul Fattah equalizing afterward. However, Hussain Rasheed took the lead for Dhidhdhoo once again before the half ended. Obaida Kadhim Ahmed equalized for Green Streets during extra time in the second half.

During last night's DPL playoffs, Biss Buru Sports Club beat K. Huraa 6-3. Biss Buru's Mahmood Ashraf scored a hattrick, while Mohamed Nasheed and Amir Shuaib scored a goal each. Their third was an own goal scored by a Huraa player.

Huraa's goals were scored by Mohamed Maaish Mausoom, Olumide Francis and Saad Abdul Azeez.

With these results, the six-team playoff sees Biss Buru in first with 10 points from four matches. TC Sports Club is in second with 7 points from three matches. Dhidhdhoo has 7 points from four matches.

GDh. Gadhdhoo is in fourth place after getting 3 points from three matches. Green Streets is in fifth place with 2 points from four matches. Huraa has 1 point from four matches played.

The top four teams in the playoffs will qualify for the 2026/2027 season of the DPL.

Green Streets began playing for the First Division after becoming the champion team in the Second Division in 2016. The team has been playing in the DPL every season since 2017. TC were promoted to the DPL after claiming the champion title in the Second Division in 2014 and placing in the top two in the playoffs.

Green Streets and 2018 league champion TC Sports are playing in the playoffs due to them placing seventh and eighth place respectively in the DPL. Biss Buru won the Male' Regional League Second Division and was named the champion team. Dhidhdhoo claimed the North Region League champion title, Gadhdhoo won the South Regional League and Huraa won the Central Region League. 

While three teams have qualified for the 2026/2027 season of the DPL from the playoffs, Green Streets and Gadhdhoo will be playing for the final slot.
