Earlier this week, Ali Nishtar Mohamed resigned as the Green Streets coach after six years, with him reversing his decision and going back to Green Streets as their coach.

Nishtar said that he resigned so that he could focus on another project, with his resignation being announced as the Dhivehi Premier League's (DPL) playoff stage is fast approaching.

Nishtar has agreed to come back to the club after reversing his decision.

Nishtar took to social media and said that he had gone back to Green "for the sake of" club President Muaviyath Khaleel (Muabe) and team captain Rilwan Waheed (Riley).

The turnover of football club coaches in Maldives is quite high, with Nishtar having spent the longest time in one club.

Seasoned coach Ali Suzain left Green Streets in 2020, with Nishtar having taken on the role.

The team did not manage to make it into the top six teams in the most recent league, with Green finishing in 8th place, making it so that the team has to compete in the playoffs.

In the second round of the recent league, the required number of Green Streets players did not attend their match against New Radiant, which resulted in a match cancellation. FAM concluded that this resulted in a 2-0 loss to Green due to player absence.

Even though Nishtar and the club's coaching team had attended the match that day, he was unable to secure a win as there was a lack of players. The club's board stated that they did not welcome intentional match forfeiting. However, the club did not say that they would be taking action against the players who did not attend the match.
