Zoha Azly has made history as the Maldives’ first junior women’s bodyboarding champion, following the introduction of the category in this year’s national league.
The junior women’s division was included for the first time by the Maldives Bodyboarding Association in the National Bodyboarding League.
Zoha claimed the first champion title at the opening event, Burnu Shikaaru, defeating Zaha Zaidul Haleel in the final.
She scored a total of 11.74 points, riding eight waves in the final heat. Her top scores, 6.17 on her third wave and 5.57 on her sixth, secured the win. Zaha finished with 6.17 points.
Zoha advanced to the final after beating Layan Hussain Shafaz in the semi-finals with 6.57 points, while Zaha overcame Fathimath Layyah Shahid with a score of 7.30.
The event marked the conclusion of the first stop of this year’s National Bodyboarding League.
In other divisions, Amin Umar Moosa retained the men’s open title, Nooh Mohamed Dunaim Irshad won the junior men’s division, and Ali Khushruwaan took the drop knee title.
