Maldivian basketball coach Ilyas Ibrahim (Illi) has completed the International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Programme.

The programme is run by the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Olympic Solidarity and the University of Delaware.

As part of the course, Ilyas developed a final project focused on a junior elite development programme for Maldivian basketball, aimed at building youth pathways in a sustainable manner.

Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC), which facilitated his participation, congratulated him on the achievement.

Ilyas has coached several clubs in Maldives and has served as an assistant coach of the national team. He also enjoyed a successful playing career, winning multiple titles at club level.

He is also a former footballer, having featured in the Maldives national team, including a 0-0 draw against South Korea in 2004. He later played for New Radiant, part of the squad that won the 2005 AFC Cup.
