Buru Sports Club have placed third in the FA Cup after winning 3-1 against Blue Sports.

During the match in deciding third place between the two teams that lost the semi-finals, Buru's goals were scored by experienced defender Ahmed Abdulla (Lily), Abdulla Yameen (Yaan) and Mohamed Joodh Ismail.

The match took place at the national football stadium in the evening, with Buru taking the lead from Ahmed Abdulla's penalty. Blue Sports defender Ahmed Looth fouled Buru's Ali Hamdan within the penalty box. Ahmed Abdulla calmly slotted the ball into the goal.

Ten minutes after the penalty, Yameen scores the second goal for Buru. Gasim Thoif's pass to Yameen within Blue's half saw him run into the penalty box and score past Blue's goalkeeper Mohamed Ashfaq Ayoob, with the ball going past him from underneath his hand and right past the goalpost. 

Joodh scored the third goal for Buru in the 82nd minute with a shot from outside the penalty box and into the top corner. Buru's Hassan Gais passed the ball back to Joodh from the edge of the box as he was about to be contested for possession by a Blue's defender. Joodh was standing outside the box and took his shot upon first-touch, straight into the top corner. 

Blue's only goal was scored by Hassan Yaniu, with Ali Sham Mohamed Shair playing a significant role for the goal. Ali Sham got possession of the ball during a counter attack, where he attempted to run into the penalty box but was being challenged by two defenders from Buru. He managed to get past Shamweel Mohamed (Meedhoo Bonda) and into the penalty box.

Buru goalkeeper Hassan Alif managed to defend the attempt from Ali Sham, but the ball rebounded off of his hand and went across an empty goal. Yaniu then proceeded to follow and score an easy goal.

Blue Sports Club, which was registered last year, has New Radiant's former chairman Ahmed Wasif as a shareholder. The FA Cup was the team's first official football tournament.

Eight teams competed in the 2026 FA Cup, with the tournament starting from the quarter finals. Blue Sports made their way to the semi-finals after beating the Eagles, with Blue losing against New Radiant. 

The team are preparing to compete in the Third Division.
