The first match of the Male' Region's Second Division League, a league starting in an all-new format, will see the Lagoons Sports Club go up against Da Grande Amigos New Generation.

A total of 12 teams will be playing in the Second Division under the Male' League name, with it being split into two rounds. The first round will see the teams split into two groups, with the second round seeing the teams that placed first and second from both groups playing under league rules.

Group 1: Biss Buru Sports Club, Lagoons Sports Club, JJ Sports Club, LT Sports Club, Da Grande, Club PK.

Group 2: Tent Sports Club, BG Sports Club, Club Teenage, Mahibadhoo Sports Club, Lorenzo Sports Club, United Henverians.

Matches will be played at the Galolhu Stadium in the evening and at night every matchday for the first round of the league until 6th May.

After that, the league round between the teams that placed first and second in each group will be held until 15th May. In this round, all teams will play against each other, with the team that secures the most points winning the title of champion and the opportunity to compete in the Dhivehi Premier League (DPL) playoffs.

A total of six teams will compete in the next season of the DPL playoffs. Along with the champion teams from the North, Central, South and Male' Regions, the 7th and 8th place teams in this season of the DPL, TC Sports Club and Club Green Streets are the teams in the playoffs. The top four teams in the playoffs will qualify for the 2026/2027 DPL.

Lagoons Sports Club was the champion team of the Third Division in 2022. They made it up to the quarter finals in the previous Second Division League. Da Grande was the champion team in the 2018 Second Division League and played in the DPL, with them being relegated in 2022.

The match between Lagoons and Da Grande takes place at 4:00pm today, with Biss Buru and PK's match at 9:00pm.

The most recent Second Division League by FAM was held in the 2023/2024 season.

Odi Sports Club won the 2023/2024 season. Victory was the team that played against Odi in the finals, with Victory having been given the opportunity to play in this season's DPL. Along with that, as DPL's Super United Sports (SUS) encountered financial troubles, they had to step away from their opportunity in competing in the DPL, with New Radiant being given the opportunity instead. New Radiant competed in the semi-finals of the previous season's Second Division. This resulted in SUS being fined and relegated to the Third Division.
