The national team's reliable forward, Hamza Mohamed (Hampu), has decided to leave Maziya Sports and Recreation after spending seven successful years with the club.

Hamza, 31, announced his decision via his social media accounts. He stated that Maziya played a lead role in helping him reach the current stage of his career and described the club as his "second home."

Furthermore, he expressed his gratitude to the club's management and coaching staff for their closeness and the assistance they provided from his very first day.

"I am thankful from the bottom of my heart for the assistance provided by the club's management and coaches during this journey, and for all the work they did to guide me," Hamza said, while also thanking Maziya for the opportunities they provided by placing their trust in him.

"Every moment spent at this club has been a very special and proud time. This club will always hold a special place in my heart."

Hamza, who was born in B. Eydhafushi, joined Maziya in 2019. During his time with the club, he won the Premier League five times, the FA Cup and President's Cup once each, and the Charity Shield three times.

Hamza, who has won the awards for the Maldives' Best Player as well as Best Goal Scorer at the Maldives Football Awards, was first introduced to the First Division in 2014 with New Radiant. Before joining that club, he initially began participating in Maziya’s training sessions.

However, New Radiant secured his signature before Maziya could. Under a five-year contract with New Radiant, Hamza played for the club until the end of 2018, achieving significant successes there as well.
