TC Sports Club has advanced to the semifinals of the FA Cup after defeating Victory Sports Club 3-1, thanks to late goals from substitutes who came on in the second half.

In this match, which saw coach Mohamed Shiyaz (Mohan) on the Victory bench for the first time, his team ended the first half in the lead. Ahmed Rizwan (Rizey) gave Victory the lead in the third minute of added time in the first half.

TC coach Mohamed Athif (Aathi) brought on Sri Lanka’s Chalana Chameera in place of midfielder Mohamed Yazdhan Hussain with two minutes of regulation time remaining in the first half. Additionally, the second half began with Mohamed Danish Ibrahim replacing Ahnaf Mohamed Tasneem (Nafko).

TC equalized in the fourth minute of the second half. The score leveled through an own goal by Victory’s Ali Shamis (Thoppey).

TC took the lead in the 88th minute with a goal scored by Aiham Hamdhoon. This goal was achieved within a minute of him coming onto the pitch. TC eased their tension in the fifth minute of added time after the regulation 90 minutes, with a goal scored by Danish.

TC was previously defeated in the 2022 FA Cup quarterfinals after competing against Club Green Streets. However, in the two years prior to that, 2017 and 2016, TC had played in the tournament's final.

Victory, which has won the FA Cup four times, last played in this tournament in 2016. While they last won the championship in 2010, the last time they advanced as far as the semifinals was in 2012.

In the semifinal, TC will have to compete against the winner of tonight’s 9:00 PM match between Buru Sports and the defending champions, Maziya.
