Young Maldivian swimmer Aiman Rasheed has achieved a major victory in the open water franchise "Oceanman Maldives" held in K. Maafushi.
Aiman, who is just 15 years old, secured first place and won the gold medal in the 5-kilometer "Half Oceanman" category. Aiman finished this race in 01:19:11 (1 hour 19 minutes 11 seconds). Second place in the men's group of this category was taken by Brazil's Vinicius Dias (01:19:52). Third place went to Sergio (01:20:04).
In the women's 5-kilometer (Half Oceanman) category, first place was secured by Sarah Evans, representing the United Kingdom. She finished the race in 01:29:02. Second place in this category was achieved by Daria Rakova of Ukraine, who finished the race in 01:37:46. Third place was taken by Alison Grinnell of the UAE, who completed the race in 01:39:24.
10-Kilometer (Oceanman) Category
World-class swimmers competed in the 10-kilometer race, which is the longest event of the tournament.

All athletes who secured first place in the competitive Oceanman categories have qualified for the Oceanman World Event to be held late this year. Aiman is the second Maldivian athlete to qualify for the World Event.
Ziyan Ziyad of Maldives also qualified for Oceanman World by winning the championship in the men's section of the 2-kilometer Sprint race held yesterday.
