In a high-energy match, defending champions India secured a strong start to their SAFF U20 Championship campaign by defeating rivals Pakistan 0-3.
With this victory, both India and Bangladesh have confirmed their spots in the semifinals from the three-team Group B. The result marks the end of the tournament for Pakistan.
In the match played at the Galolhu Stadium in the ongoing tournament hosted by the Maldives, India took the lead just three minutes after the start. Vishal Yadav scored this goal from an opportunity created by Gurnaj Singh Grewal.
Later, in the 64th minute, Omang Dodum extended India's lead with a header. Dodum then secured the final result by scoring the third goal in the 88th minute.
India and Bangladesh will now face each other in their final group stage match to determine the top team in the group. That match is scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
