Bangladesh has won against Pakistan with a 2-nil score in the first match of Group B in the ongoing SAFF Under-20 Championship.
Neither team scored goals in the first half of the match played today at the Galolhu National Stadium in Male'. However, Bangladesh ramped up their performance going into the second half, mounting repeated attacks on Pakistan's net.
At the 54-minute mark, Ronan Sullivan marked his debut by scoring the opening goal for Bangladesh.
The goal came from a free-kick play, with Sullivan collecting the ball outside the area and firing it into the top corner, out of Pakistan goalkeeper Kashif's reach.
In the 67th minute, Sullivan added his second goal with a header from a cross, sealing 3 points for Bangladesh.
Ronan Sullivan is a US-born footballer of Bangladeshi descent, who has been included anew in the Bangladesh team for the SAFF Under-20 Championship.
