Plays from Ahzam sees Odi first in group

With young midfielder Ahzam Rasheed's plays, Odi Sports mounted a 4-2 comeback against Club Eagles, placing first in their group and securing their spot in the semi-finals of the President's Cup.

The last match from Group 2 was played yesterday evening, with Ismail Easa's (Messi) goal in the 20th minute assisted by Ibrahim Mahudhee Hussain (Feydhoo Ibbe) putting Club Eagles in the lead.

In the first half, Odi's Keanu Marqheal Marsh-Brown and Muzdhan Hassan's attacks were halted by the Eagles' goalkeeper Xahran Hassan Ziyad. A subsequent shot by Abdulla Looth Ibrahim (Sane) saw it hit the goal post.

18-year old Ahzam's goals in the second half had Odi equalize against the Eagles. Their equalizing goal was scored in the 59th minute when a ball from Muzdhan allowed Ahzam to score from outside the box, shooting into the top corner of the goal. Their second goal was scored in the 71st minute, where Ahzam capitalized on a pass from Ahmed Bassam Mohammed Naeem and proceeded to score past three defenders and the goalkeeper without giving them a chance.

Odi's third goal was scored in the 87th minute by Ahmed Aiham (Aihu). A one-two play was executed between him and Looth which led to the goal. Their 4th goal was scored in the 90th minute when Ahmed Ayaz (Aya) scored off an assist from Ahzam.

Club Eagles' Mahudhee scored the second goal for his team during extra time, assisted by Ibrahim Lebe.

There are three teams in both groups of the cup, with Odi's first match against New Radiant seeing a 1-1 draw. The second match in the group was played between New Radiant and Club Eagles, with New Radiant winning the game 2-1.

Odi Sports and New Radiant secured four points each, with Odi placing first due to goal difference.
