Pres to gift MVR 1 million to national football, futsal teams

Sports Minister Abdulla Rafiu has said that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has decided to give MVR 1 million as prize money to the national football team, which won the South Asian Super Cup and the national futsal team, which won the SAFF Futsal Championship's Men's Division. This includes team players and officials as well.

"President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has decided to give this bonus to all players and officials," said state media PSM, citing Minister Rafiu.

The minister also said that the President had decided to give prize money when he had met with national team players and officials last September after their accomplishments.

The SAFF Futsal Championship will conclude today. Maldives' final match will be against Sri Lanka at 4:30pm, Maldives time.
