The SAFF Futsal Championship's Women's Division sees Sri Lanka beat Maldives today by a narrow margin.
A total of 13 goals were scored in the match, with Sri Lanka winning 7-6.
This is the first time a Women's Futsal team was formed by Maldives and is playing in a competition, with today's match seeing the National Women's Futsal team make major progress. National coach Athif also said that the Maldivian team has been improving match after match.
Women's Futsal also saw its first hat trick during today's match by Maldivian player Aminath Fazla.

The match was played at Bangkok, Thailand's Nonthaburi Province's indoor stadium, with Sri Lanka's Imesha Warnakulasuriya also scoring a hat trick. Sri Lankan Tharindi Welawita scored two goals, with one of the other two goals being an own goal from Mariyam Noora and the other goal being scored by Stephanie Dias.
Two of the other three goals scored by Maldives was from Captain Fathimath Saliya and a penalty from Raniya Ibrahim. The third goal was from an own goal by Stephanie.
Today's first match saw Bangladesh beat Pakistan with a score of 9-1.
