Dhagandey scores in Premier League after five years

Ali Ashfaq (Dhagandey) has scored in the Dhivehi Premier League after five years, leading New Radiant to an 8-4 victory.

The last time Ashfaq scored in the Premier League prior to this was during the 2020/2021 season while wearing the Valencia jersey. His final goal of that season was seen on January 16, 2021, in a match where Valencia lost 2-1 to Da Grande Sports.

Following that season, he missed the entire 2022 season due to an injury sustained in the opening match. After an injury suffered while playing for Super United Sports (SUS) in the President's Cup before the start of the 2023 Premier League, Ashfaq resumed playing only this season.

After the 2020/2021 Premier League with Valencia, his first appearance in the league this season was on the night of the 27th of last month against Buru Sports Club.

In today's match, Ashfaq came on as a substitute in the second half and scored two goals. The last time Ashfaq scored two goals in a Premier League match was in the 2019/2020 season while playing for TC Sports Club, in a 5-1 win over Green Streets in the final league match.
