Pakistan triumphed over Sri Lanka with a score of 5-2. With this win, Pakistan has leveled with the Maldives in terms of points; however, this was achieved by playing one match more than the Maldives.
The Maldives currently holds the top spot with six points from two matches, while Pakistan sits in second place with six points from three matches.
In the match played at the Nonthaburi Indoor Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, Pakistan's Ali Aga scored two goals. The team's other three goals were contributed by Hamza Nusrat, Muhammad Zafar Khan, and Asif Ahmed Chaudhry.
Sri Lanka's goals were scored by Mohamed Akib Faizal and Abdul Aziz Mohamed Azmeer.
In other matches played today, the encounter between India and Nepal ended in a 3-3 draw. Bangladesh secured its first win by defeating Bhutan 4-1. India and Bhutan remain the only teams in the tournament yet to record a victory.
Tomorrow, matches for the women's division will take place, though the Maldives does not have a scheduled game tomorrow.
The next match for the Maldives will be in the men's division against India on Tuesday.
