Maldives lost against Pakistan today with a score of 3-1 in the SAFF Futsal Championship's Women's Division.
Even though they lost, this has been the best performance by a Maldivian team in the competition. Their last two matches were played well, with those experiences adding on to their improvement.
Maldives' Mariyam Noora scored with a free kick, with it being scored early on after Pakistan took the lead.
Pakistan's first goal was scored by Azwa Chaudhry in the third minute of the match. Maldives scored five minutes after that and equalized. This was the first goal listed in the competition by a Maldivian player.
In Maldives' game against India where they lost 11-1, Noora's attack had resulted in their one goal. The goal has been listed as an own goal after the ball rebounded off Indian defender Achom Degio's leg and went into goal.
Zahra Bokhari took the lead for Pakistan once again in today's match in the 16th minute. Anmol Hira stretched the lead even further afterwards.
Bangladesh, who had won their match against India, could not make the game go their way today when they played against Bhutan, with a final score of 3-3.
