New Radiant Sports Club secured a 2–0 victory over TC Sports Club in the Dhivehi Premier League on Sunday night, scoring twice in extra time to maintain their position near the top of the table.
Nigerian forward Alhaji Jero scored both goals for New Radiant. He scored the first goal in the eighth minute of extratime, finishing from a pass by Ahmed Vijudhaan (Vijukko). Just a minute later, Jero headed his second goal from a cross delivered by Guillaume da Silva.
With the win, New Radiant move to 27 points from 14 matches, while Buru Sports Club remain close behind in fourth place after beating Valencia 4–1, bringing their total to 26 points.
Both clubs have four matches remaining in the league.
For TC, the defeat was a significant setback in their battle to avoid automatic relegation. They remain seventh with nine points and will face Green Streets in their next league fixture.
Green Streets, currently eighth with eight points, are scheduled to play second-placed Odi Sports Club tonight.
