FAM announces refereeing courses for youth aged 16 to 25

The refereeing courses announced by FAM have opened applications for youth aged between 16 to 25. FAM's purpose for the course is to build up young referees in Maldives.

The deadline for applying to the course held in Male' is next Thursday.

FAM has made a Google form for those who are interested in applying for the course. Youth of both genders can apply: 

FAM requests those under 18 years of age to submit a document stating that their parents are not opposed to their children signing up for the course.

FAM announcement: 

  • Those who are under 18 and want to apply to the course must submit a form of parental non-objection to: [email protected]
  • The link to the form of parental non-objection is included in the course application form

Mohamed Ameez, who held a senior position at the AFC Referees Department, will be the senior lecturer for the course.

The course will run for about 10 days and will begin on 19th January, with an end date of 28th January.

Requirements to be eligible for the course:

  • Communication in English
  • To have passed Grade 7
  • To be between the ages of 16 and 25
  • Submitting a police report

FAM stated that referees who graduate from the course will get opportunities to referee various competitions held by the association.

FAM has also announced the Third Division of football and the U-14 Academy League.
