President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's eldest son Umair Mohamed Muizzu has been called up to New Radiant's B Team which is being brought together.

New Radiant Chairman Ahmed Mubeen stated that they have been bringing together a B Team for the club since the season began by finding skilled youth players, and that Umair is one of those players. Other players include the child of former defender Mohamed Naseer and former midfielder Ahmed Naaz's (Aakey) child.

Umair, who has been recognized as a skilled table tennis player, also played in the recent football match that was held when President of FIFA Gianni Infantino came to Maldives.

Mubeen stated that since the senior and B teams have not been able to practice separately due to a lack of stadium time, players from the B Team are training with the senior team. He also said that some youth players in the B Team have been placed in the senior team's squad.

"The coach will have the option to put those players into the match day squad," said Mubeen.

However, he said that in the future, the B Team will fall under the supervision of senior team Assistant Coach Mohamed Faisal (Katey) so that separate training can take place as its own project.

"The B Team is our project where we train players for the senior team. If, for example, there is a youth tournament, we will take players from the B Team," said Mubeen.

He stated that New Radiant's academy will begin work very soon to train the junior players.
