Kyrgyzstan beat Maldives 3–1 to win the CAVA Cup women’s volleyball tournament, handing the hosts a second consecutive final defeat to the same opponents on home soil.

Maldives took the opening set 25–20, raising hopes of a different outcome from last year’s final. But Kyrgyzstan responded strongly to level the match by winning the second set 25–22.

Kyrgyzstan then took control, winning the third and fourth sets 25–17 and 25–21 to seal the title.

Maldives struggled to maintain momentum, conceding several points through unforced errors.

It is the second year that Kyrgyzstan has beaten Maldives in a final in Male’.

In September 2024, Kyrgyzstan edged Maldives 3–2 in the Asian Central Zone Women’s Volleyball Challenge Cup final.

The result was disappointing for Maldives, who had beaten Kyrgyzstan 3–1 during the round robin stage of the tournament but were unable to uphold that performance in the final.
