Green Streets kept their hopes of escaping the relegation zone alive with a 1-0 victory over Valencia in last night’s Dhivehi Premier League match.

The result marked a reversal of the first-round encounter, in which Valencia defeated Green Streets 2-1.

Green Streets secured the win with an early goal from Egyptian midfielder Al Saeed Mahmoud, capitalizing on a moment of lapse in Valencia’s defence.

The goal came when Valencia attempted a cross from the edge of the field, which was intercepted by a Green Streets player and quickly played into Al Saeed.

Despite falling under pressure, Al Saeed managed to fire a low shot into the bottom corner of the net, catching Valencia off guard.

Valencia’s players appeared unprepared for the quick transition, allowing Green Streets to take the lead and ultimately secure all three points.

With the win, Green Streets moved up to seventh place in the league standings. However, they remain five points behind sixth-placed Victory, meaning the battle to climb further away from the relegation zone remains a challenge.
