The Maldives has signed an MoU with Thailand to receive support for sports development.
Sports Minister Abdulla Rafiu signed the MoU on Sunday during his visit to Thailand. From the Thailand Government, Sports Minister Atthakorn Sirilatthayakorn signed the agreement.
The Sports Ministry in Maldives stated that there will be cooperation in four areas under the agreement. These are:
- Training of outfield staff in sports
- Conducting training camps for youth teams
- Cooperation in developing sports facilities
- Working towards enhancing athlete progress
The Sports Ministry has entered into agreements with some other countries as well for assistance in sports development. This includes Fujian province, China, and Saudi Arabia.
