Zayan, Nabaaha, Nabeeha win 7 medals across three national tournaments in November

Maldives' Hussain Zayan Zaki, Fathimath Nabaaha Abdul Razzaq and Aminath Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq have won seven medals across three Badminton International Series competitions in three African countries.

Maldives' Hussain Zayan Zaki, Fathimath Nabaaha Abdul Razzaq and Aminath Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq have won seven medals across three Badminton International Series competitions in three African countries.

The Africa tour that started at Zambia early last month saw them compete in three different African countries. Zayan and Nabaaha won gold in the Mixed Doubles Category in the Zambia International Badminton Series. They have also competed in the Botswana International Badminton Series. They competed in the now concluded South Africa Badminton competition.

Nabaaha and Nabeeha won silver in the Doubles event of the international badminton series.

Nabaaha and Nabeeha lost to South Africans Amy Ackerman and Johanita Scholtz in the Zambia competition final, which came to an end on 16th November. Both teams also played against each other in the Botswana competition final.

Amy and Johanita won against Nabaaha and Nabeeha with a set score of 2-1. The Maldivian pair won the second set. The set was also quite competitive.

The first set was won by the South African pair with a score of 21-9. The second set was won by the Maldivian pair with a score of 26-24. The final set was won by the South African pair with a score of 21-14.

Nabaaha and Nabeeha represented the Maldivian badminton club Revival Sports, along with their nation in the competition.

One of the club founders, Hussain Zayan Zaki and Nabaaha won bronze medals in the Mixed Doubles semi-finals. Nabaaha went on to win a bronze medal in the Singles category as well.
