After Mohamed Rasheed's (Hokey) seizure on the pitch yesterday, he has been discharged from hospital after treatment.

During yesterday evening's Dhivehi Premier League match where TC Sports played against Odi Sports Club, Odi's captain Mohamed Rasheed experienced a seizure mid-game with him receiving treatment and being taken to the hospital.

The match was played at the national football stadium, where Rasheed had jumped to head the ball while at the center circle in the 66th minute, with him falling onto the pitch after the jump. Along with TC's and Odi's medical officials, the national football team's physician Hisham Zaki rushed onto the pitch as well.

Rasheed experienced three seizures yesterday.

"The first seizure was on the pitch. The second seizure occurred while he was on the way to the hospital. The third seizure was at the hospital itself. He experienced a total of three seizures," said Odi's official Ali Shifaz.

Shifaz said that Rasheed was at the hospital for six hours, received treatment and was released after MRI scans were concluded to be "normal".

"The MRI scans were "normal". He has been released from the hospital," said Shifaz.

Rasheed has experienced breathing difficulties in the past, with him coming back to the First Division after a four year break.

Rasheed has been suffering from asthma since he was young, with him having suddenly collapsed onto the pitch and taken to the hospital for treatment in the past.

During the 2012 AFC Challenge Cup in Nepal, Rasheed had played against Nepal, with him suddenly collapsing onto the pitch, subsequently being rushed to the hospital for treatment. He had scored the only goal in the match for Maldives, with the game ending in Maldives' favor with a score of 1-0.

During the 2016 Asian Cup qualifier playoffs, Rasheed experienced breathing difficulties in the Maldives vs Yemen game held in Male', with him collapsing on the pitch and being rushed to ADK Hospital for treatment.

Rasheed, the former national football defender, had announced his retirement from football due to these health reasons. He later came out of retirement and began playing for the Second Division. Odi Sports Club won the Second Division under Rasheed's role as captain.
