Club Eagles secured a crucial 3-0 victory over Club Valencia this afternoon
in the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League, climbing into the top four of the league
table.
All three goals for Eagles were scored in the second
half. The opening goal came in the 55th minute from Ibrahim Mahudhee Hussain
(Feydhoo Ibbe), scored via a bicycle kick.
The goal came after Eagles' Uzbekistani midfielder,
Abdulmalik Toshpulatov, crossed the ball into the box from outside the area.
Ibbe, with his back to the goal, twisted and connected with the ball using a
bicycle kick, sending it into the net.
The second goal was netted in the 64th minute by Ahmed
Rizwan (Rizey). After receiving a pass from Ibbe, Rizey drove into the area.
Despite a challenge and tackle from a young Valencia defender, Rizey skillfully
evaded the tackle and slotted the ball home.
The third goal was scored by the young substitute, Laith
Abbas. Captain Rizey played a significant role in the goal in the 79th minute.
After Valencia goalkeeper Viorel Boian parried Rizey's initial shot, Rizey
managed to retrieve the rebound before it went out of play.
Rizey then passed the ball to Japanese midfielder Katsumi
Kimisheema, who was outside the area. Kimisheema laid the ball off to Laith, who
controlled it and finished with a powerful strike into the top corner of the
goal.
With this win, Eagles now has 12 points,
securing a spot in the top four. The closest team behind them is Victory Sports
Club, which holds nine points.
