Aamin Umar Moosa has become the champion of this year's National Bodyboarding League.
Aamin claimed victory against Ali Khushruwan Ahmed (Kuda Ayya) in the finals of the first two league competitions, with him making it to the semi-finals of the National Bandufilaa Challenge, the last league competition.
Aamin faced defeat at the hands of Ashraf Hassan in the semi-finals, with Aamin being able to claim league champion due to Ashraf beating Khushruwan in the Bandufilaa finals.
With this, Aamin has become the first athlete to claim champion status in both the junior and open categories of the national league. He has become the junior league champion in 2022 and 2023 as well.
Since last year, Aamin has exclusively been competing in the senior (open) category. With this, a completely new junior champion took the mantle.

Mohamed Azaan Ahmed became the league champion that time. This year's junior league champion was last year's second place holder Eyan Ahmed.
Aamin has scored a total of 3,460 points in the league. Khushruwan came in second with a 20 point difference, totaling 3,440. Mohamed Kaif, who had made it to the semi-finals of the Bandufilaa Challenge, came in third with 2,680 points. Bandufilaa Challenge champion Ashraf Hassan came in fourth with 2,610 points.
These four athletes have been chosen for the national bodyboarding team's squad next year.

Ali Javed (Jaatte'), who had won the league the last two years, came in seventh with 2,340 points. He exited the Bandufilaa Challenge in the fourth round.
This is the lowest league result he has gotten ever since the national league was introduced by the Maldives Bodyboarding Association in 2022. He finished second in the first year, with the champion being Khushruwan.
The Open and Junior categories of the Bandufilaa Challenge came to a close last Thursday. The Dropknee and Masters category have already taken place.

Khushruwan claimed the Dropknee crown this year as well, by beating out Aamin in the finals, with third being claimed by Azaan. All the Dropknee events within the national league have all been won by Khushruwan.
Ibrahim Shiman became champion in the Masters category, with second being claimed by Abdulla Jameel and third being claimed by Ahmed Afnan.
