Ahmed Aiham (Fatho) contributed
significantly to Maziya's 3-0 victory over Victory by scoring a goal and
providing an assist in the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League match held this
afternoon.
The past international break was a
tough week for Maziya midfielder Aiham, who faced heavy criticism. He was
dropped from the national team after participating in a futsal tournament while
having been selected for the senior squad. Last Friday, Aiham issued an apology
for the incident, admitting that his conduct was inappropriate and vowing to
work hard to regain his place in the national team.
The league resumed today after the
international break with the match between Maziya and Victory. Aiham scored
Maziya's second goal.

The opening goal came from a corner
kick taken by Aiham, which Spanish forward Sergio Iglesias headed into the net
in the 37th minute. Maziya's Second Goal scored by Aiham after a smooth one-two
pass exchange with Hassan Nazim (Chottey). Aiham passed the ball to Chottey
outside the box and then surged into the area. Chottey returned the ball, and
Aiham dribbled past Victory's Uzbek defender Javokhir Azamov before firing the
ball into the goal.
This marks Aiham's third goal this
season and his second in the league. He had previously scored in the
season-opening match against Eagles and in a league match against Valencia.

Maziya's third and final goal was
scored by Haisham Hassan (Bidi), assisted by Naiz Hassan (Dhaadhu). Dhaadhu passed the ball from outside the box into the area, where Haisham ran onto it
and slotted it into the bottom corner of the Victory goal.
Maziya has maintained its winning
streak across all matches played this season. This was their ninth match
overall and eighth league match. Maziya now sits at the top of the league table
with 24 points.
