President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has bought a Platinum souvenir ticket for the Maldives-Palestine match tonight.
Entry to watch the two Maldives-Palestine matches, tonight and Saturday night, are free of charge.
However, Football Association of Maldives (FAM) announced that it will be selling souvenir tickets, the funds from which will go to the Palestine Football Association to support football rebuilding efforts.
FAM stated that the first souvenir ticket was purchased by President Muizzu. The ticket was handed over to the President by FAM President Ahmed Thoriq in a ceremony held this morning at the President's Office.
Two categories of souvenir tickets are up for sale.
The first is Platinum Category, with tickets priced at MVR 1000. These give access to VIP and rostrum areas, with a total of 50 tickets to be sold.
Then there is the Gold Category, from which 200 tickets will be sold. These come with seating from the area around the rostrum, and are priced at MVR 500.
FAM stated that the funds from ticket sales will aid the Palestine Football Association in its mission to rebuild football in a nation affected by war.
