A special Task Force comprising
representatives from four government agencies has been established to manage
the logistics and welfare of the Palestinian U-17 National Team, which arrived
in the Maldives today for a training camp in preparation for the AFC U-17 Asian
Cup Qualifiers.
The Palestinian team will conduct
their camp in the Maldives from today until November 19th.
Sports Minister Abdulla Rafiu stated
that a 16-member Task Force has been created to oversee and manage all matters
related to the delegation, from the moment of their arrival until their
departure.
The Task Force is composed of
officials from the Ministry of Sports, the Football Association of Maldives
(FAM), the Maldives Police Service (MPS), and the Maldives National Defence
Force (MNDF).

During their stay, the Palestinian
team will play two friendly matches against the Maldives U-17 National Team:
- First Match: Thursday night (next week)
- Second Match: Saturday night (next week)
The FAM announced that public entry
to the stadium for both matches will be free of charge.

However, the FAM has launched a
fundraising effort to provide financial aid to the Palestinian team by selling souvenir
tickets in two categories. The proceeds from these sales will be presented as a
gift to the Palestinian team:
- Platinum Category: MVR 1,000 (Limited to 50 tickets for Rostrum and VIP areas).
- Gold Category: MVR 500 (Limited to 200 tickets for seating areas adjacent to the Rostrum).
Palestine is scheduled to compete in
Group D of the AFC U-17 Asian Cup Qualifiers, with matches held in India from
November 22nd to 30th. Their group opponents are India, Iran, Chinese Taipei,
and Lebanon.
