Eagles' keeper Mohamed Ashwan, who is displaying a promising performance in the ongoing Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League, has been selected to the National Squad.
National Team Coach Mohamed Shiyaz (Mohan) has selected a team of 25 for the match against Philippines on November 18 in the Asian Cup Qualifying.
Buru Sports' winger Mohamed Naim and Victory's second keeper Mohamed Yameen have been excluded from the squad Mohan compiled for last month's match against Tajikistan.
28 year old Ashwan has earned recognition for his standout play on the pitch this season.
In addition to Ashwan, two keepers who were previously on the team as well, Buru Sports' captain Mohamed Faisal and Maziya's Hussain Shareef is also included.
In place of wing forward Naim, Mohan has this time chosen Valencia's youth captain Ethan Ibrahim Zaki. Ethan has been crowned Player of the Match in both matches that the team won.
The next addition to the squad is Buru Sports' Gasim Thoaif.
FAM has announced that the National Team will start practice today.
