FAM has said that Palestine's Under-17 national football team will be coming to Maldives to take part in a training camp in preparation for the upcoming AFC Under-17 Asian Cup qualifying matches.
The Palestine team has been unable to play tournaments and train due to the ongoing war. Palestine currently trains in another country. The Palestine Football Association requested FAM the camp be hosted in Maldives.
FAM said the training camp will be fully funded by the Maldivian government. The Palestine team will be training in Maldives until 19th November.
Until then, Palestine's Under-17 national football team and Maldives' Under-17 national football team will play two friendly games against each other. The first of the two games will be held Thursday night, with the second game being held on Saturday night.
FAM said the public can enter the stadium for free. However, FAM has decided to sell two categories of symbolic tickets in order to gift Palestine funds.
The tickets will be split into Platinum and Gold categories. The Souvenir Platinum tickets will sell for MVR 1,000, with Rostrum and VIP seats being reserved for spectators. A total of 50 of these tickets will be sold.
The Gold Category tickets will be sold for MVR 500, with the seats on either side of the Rostrum being reserved for spectators. A total of 200 of these tickets will be sold.
"The funds we get from selling these tickets will be gifted to the Palestinian football team," as per FAM's statement they had released.
Palestine will be in Group D of the upcoming AFC Under-17 Asian Cup qualifying matches, with Group D's games being played in India. The group has Palestine, India, Iran, Chinese-Taipei and Lebanon. Group D's games will be played from 22nd November to 30th November.
Maldives' qualifying matches will be played in Thailand. Along with Maldives, the other teams in the same group will be Thailand, Turkmenistan and Kuwait.
