Police officer Azneen Rashad has been working towards his dream of achieving the title of Mister Maldives for 9 years. A lot of time, money and energy was spent on this dream. He achieved his dream last night, with him sharing his happiness with his mother and father. His two biggest supporters have been his parents since day one.
Along with becoming the overall champion in the Mister Maldives competition, Azneen achieved first place in the Bodybuilding Open Category as well. He competed against FitCon's Ismail Shuau Abdullah and Gymnasia's Hussain Riyaz. Azneen represented Police Club.
The Mister Maldives trophy was awarded to Azneen by Male' City Mayor Adam Azim.
Azneen has become the champion of the Sports Physique Category five times in the past. Azneen said that there is no one who can challenge him in that category as of late. He decided to compete in the Bodybuilding Open Category after strengthening and achieving his physique.
"I am quite happy," said Azneen who has won the gold medal South Asian Bodybuilding Championship three years in a row.
"A lot of days were sacrificed for this."

Azneen, who has won the title of Best Athlete in the Maldives Sports Awards, said that his mother and father were the ones who had supported him the most.
He brought his mother and father up onto the stage when he won the trophy. After giving the trophy to his mother, he lifted his mother in joy. The picture that was taken when this happened garnered a lot of attention. "I promised my mother one day that I would win the title of Mister Maldives. I wanted to give the trophy to my mother once I had won it," said Azneen.
Azneen's next challenge is to compete at the World Championship held in Indonesia. He will be leaving for the competition tomorrow, with his aim to win the Sports Physique Category as he has done in the last three years. The category will take place in Indonesia itself.
In other categories, the title of Sports Physique Champion is held by Dhivehi Sifainge Club's Ahmed Naeem. The Athletics Physique Overall Champion is Extreme's Ali Mabrook Latheef. The team champion is Extreme Fitness, with Dhivehi Sifainge Club in second place and Police Club in third.
