The Eagles defeated United Victory last night in the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League last night with a 3-1 score, securing their spot as fourth in the leaderboard.

After last month's international break, the Eagles brought on former team player Abdullah Haneef (Benjo) as a coach before coming out to play.

The team has been seeing positive results under Haneef's leadership. The Eagles have not suffered a loss since, with this being Haneef's first time coaching a First Division team.

His first two matches, against Odi Sports and then New Radiant, ended in draws.

Last night's match marked his second win, a back-to-back victory.

The Eagles took the lead with Ibrahim Mahdhee Hussain's (Feydhoo Ibbe) goal.

Mahdhee scored a header in the 25th minute, assisted by Uzbek midfielder Abdulmalik Toshpulatov's cross into the penalty box.

Sierra Leone forward Ibrahim Lebbie scored the second goal for the Eagles.

He sent the ball he had received from a teammate through a small gap in United Victory's defense and into goal.

Yoosuf Sidham scored Eagles' third goal before the first half ended.

Rizwan sent the ball into the penalty box to Sidham, who struck the ball towards the United Victory's keeper Adil Musthafa side. However, he was unable to save the shot.

United Victory's only goal was scored by Ish'aaf Mohamed Firag.

The final match of this week will be tonight between TC and Buru Sports. The league will be on break afterwards so that the Maldives national football team can prepare to play against Philippines in the Asian Cup Qualifying round in Male'.
