Green Streets, who are at the bottom of the table, mounted a comeback from a
two-goal deficit against New Radiant to finish the match 2-2 in the Dhiraagu
Dhivehi Premier League today.
New Radiant ended the first half of the match, played this afternoon, with a
comfortable two-goal lead. Despite their bottom-of-the-table status, Green
showed resilience to level the score in the second half.
New Radiant took the lead in the 10th minute. The goal was scored by Hassan
Raif Ahmed (Hanna). After Ali Fasir's (Sentey) shot was defended, the rebound
fell outside the box to Mohamed Irfaan (Irrey). Irrey passed the ball to Hanna,
who controlled it and smashed it into the top corner of the goal.
New Radiant's second goal was scored by Brazilian forward Guilherme Silva.
After a shot by New Radiant's Ahnaf Rasheed was saved and rebounded by Green's keeper
Abdul Majeedh Veesham, the Brazilian forward tapped the ball into the net as
the keeper struggled to secure the rebound.

New Radiant had several other opportunities to score in the first half.
Early in the second half, Green's first goal was scored by Egyptian forward Al
Saeed Mahmood from a penalty kick. The penalty was awarded after New's Ibrahim
Maisaan fouled Green's Yoosha'u bin Ali Nasheed inside the box. Although New's
Pakistani keeper Saqib Hanif correctly dived in the right direction, Al
Saieed's low shot found the corner of the net.

Green equalized in the 87th minute. Following a free-kick delivered into the
box, Green launched an attack that was initially defended off the goal line by
a New Radiant player. Uzbekistani player Shukhratali Pulatov pounced on the
rebound and slotted the ball into New's goal.
League matches will conclude tomorrow before taking a break for the national
team's preparations.
The league will break with Maziya in first place with a four-point lead.
With the single point earned today, New Radiant has moved up to second place,
one point ahead of the previously second-placed Odi Sports.
